Flower Beds 05:19
The seasons take their toll and I'm biting my lip just to spit blood at my friends You had my eyes and you were looking for answers, but that's not how they're designed We have rivers, lakes and streams just running through our veins, but I am caught out in the swell Well what if every word was meant for someone else? I'll slip into my mind and forget that I exist Sleeping in flower beds our bodies sink into the earth, forever lost to time We had might in our bones and our hands were blistered stone weathered against spending eternity alone You punched a hole through space and time to try and let the darkness out or to find your way through to the otherside With one fell swoop I'd crush you all, every tiny bone Carried out by hollow hands to the warmth of old dead trees You were out there looking for those you lost, moving between the shades of light in your head You called for life but no one yet has cheated death, what makes you think that I'd let you off the hook? What if every word was meant for someone else? I'll slip into my mind and forget that I exist These flickering lights, I must be lost again They don't call out my name, it hangs like a weight through time

Our souls bend down to dust and they draw lines to lead us home But we're just pins in a map, a distance between us too much to concieve And all this time I've wasted shouting out to you Was lost to language and caught by the wind, not worth the oxygen Still we resist all the reasons we exist All directions lead to a broken down car, burnt out on the side of the road You whispered, 'The engine is my heart' and disappeared back into smoke Now hell is empty, all devils are on Earth and you can't kill what's already dead So I will let my anger wash away 'cause there's no use for it anymore
